Elder Alfred L. Harris, Jr.
Elder Alfred L Harris Jr. was born, November 27, 1987, to Pastor and Mrs. Alfred L Harris Sr. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Accepting Christ at an early age, Elder Harris has been taught to serve God faithfully in humility and with a pure Heart. In 2002, Elder Harris relocated to Flint, Michigan with his family where his father answered the call to Pastor and serve.
Elder Harris has been fortunate to foster Multi-Generational Ministry in his efforts to Bridge the gap between generations. Serving in Various capacities of Church Leadership as a child, all of those leadership opportunities were training ground for God’s calling on his life; In June of 2007, at the Age of 19 Elder Harris answered the call to preach and was licensed at The Macedonia Baptist Church in Flint, MI.
Elder Harris graduated from Luke M. Powers Catholic High School (Flint, MI) in 2005. After studying at the University of Michigan for a few years Elder Harris was led to Nashville, TN. He graduated with honors from the American Baptist College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Bible Theology with a concentration in Pastoral Studies. In 2011, His father organized the Saints of God Church where he served as an assistant and Pastor of Youth and Young adults until August of 2015. In May of 2015 Elder Harris graduated from Luther Rice seminary in Atlanta, GA with Masters of Divinity degree. In August of 2015 at the Age of 27 He was called to Saginaw Michigan to Pastor the New Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served for 7 years. During his tenure at New Mt. Calvary the church launched a debt free campaign for the church and membership and the church along with other parishioners became debt free. The church was able to develop many community partnerships along with helping to launch the Youth Development Corporation (YDC) which provides young men and women who have dropped out of high school an opportunity to earn their diploma and get a foot in the door of a trade program.
In March of 2023 Elder Harris was called to Pastor the New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church in Flint, Michigan where he currently serves. It has been an amazing season of Transition upon his arrival!
